Best Oakland, CA Eats
I've been on a desperate search to an alternative to Yelp and amateur reviews. Then I came across Oakland Magazine's Best of Oakland and East Bay. This list was inspired by their yearly review of restaurants.
Here are my favorite spots in Oakland.
Ever since I've started eating at theses places, I've felt like I've struck a gold mine.
Zachary's Chicago Style Pizza
Note: Puts Patzi's and Little Star's sauces to shame. Sorry, I know people feel passionately about the competitors.
Pizzaiolo
Note: Thin Crust Pizza. There's a lovely courtyard- nice cocktails. This is a date night/ nice night out with the girls (or boys) restaurant.
Blue Bottle Coffee
Note: Best coffee in Oakland... andddddd probably the world. I'm confident there's a little bit of magic in each cup. People may tell you it's too mainstream.. but girl there ain't no doubting a good coffee.
The Trappist
Great place to chill when you want to wear classy hipster clothing. If you don't like fancy beer life, don't come here.
Beer Revolution
Note: Great place when you want to chill outside in grungy hipster clothing and have great beer. More chill than The Trappist.
Pho 84
Note: I was impressed. This place is quite unique- not your typical $5 high sodium Pho. If not for the Nomad Tibetan Restaurant - this would be my favorite "soul food" restaurant - using my definition of soul food. Regardless, this place can even turn a frown upside down. This place also breaks my rule of eating at places with unoriginal names.
Burma Superstar
Everything is good here, but a bit salty. I tried the coconut rice once- and now I'm obsessed with it. Not so obsessed with the line. I recommend going at weird hours, like 9 PM on a Tuesday.
