The Best Bay Area Chicken & Waffles

The Best Bay Area Chicken & Waffles

I used to have a tiny bit of an obsession with Chicken & Waffles. Here is an analysis of the Bay Area Chicken & Waffles that are worth the calories.

The number ratings are strictly for the chicken & waffles- not the ambiance or service.

Gussie's Chicken & Waffles -- CLOSED
San Francisco, CA
Rating: 1

The Bad
I was eating my chicken and noticed it was extra chewy. Turns out it was raw. When I told the waitress, she mentioned the chef was out of town. Who was cooking my chicken & waffles... Or rather, who wasn't?

The Good
The waitress shouted "sweet baby Jesus" when I told her the uncooked chicken.

Soul's Restaurant
Oakland, CA
Rating: 3

The Bad
I did not realize this place was in East Oakland until I got there. I highly recommend you go there with a large, burly friend (not with a group of girls).

They don't have a boneless option. Also they run out of chicken parts, so they have weird rules on how many of what you can order.

The Good
The adventure. The people that work here are the nicest.

Chicken and Waffle House
Oakland, CA
Rating: 4

The Bad
I wish they had boneless chicken, but now I'm just being picky. Parking was annoying.

The Good
In the middle of Jack London Square. The food was solid. The decor was awesome. The staff was great.

Sorry- this is old Android quality.

900 Grayson
Berkeley, CA
Rating: 5

The Bad
The line was long, and the syrup could be more unique, but at this point I'm being nit picky.

The Good
Seasoned fresh chicken. Easily the best chicken and waffles in the Bay Area. The coffee here is good.
